Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Flock Forecast (the "Service"), operated by Flock Forecast ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Not a Weather Authority

Flock Forecast is a community forecasting game, not a weather service. Forecasts posted here are the opinions of individual users. They are not verified, not endorsed by us, and are not a substitute for official guidance.

For decisions affecting safety, property, travel, agriculture, or health, rely on the National Weather Service, your local emergency management agency, or another qualified authority. Never rely on a user forecast during severe weather.

Official forecast data shown alongside user forecasts is retrieved from the U.S. National Weather Service (weather.gov). We display it for reference; we do not control its accuracy or availability.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
• You are responsible for your password and for all activity under your account.
• Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• One person, one account. Do not create accounts to manipulate rankings.

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of the forecasts, descriptions, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute Your Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.

You are responsible for Your Content. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to submit.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post unlawful, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or obscene content.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Manipulate votes, rankings, or accuracy scores by any means, including additional accounts, automated voting, or coordinated voting.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service without our written permission.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach any security or authentication measure.
• Interfere with the Service, degrade its performance, or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Present user forecasts as official or authoritative weather information.

6. Voting and Rankings

Votes, accuracy percentages, and leaderboard positions are computed by us and may be changed, recalculated, or reset at any time. We may remove votes or adjust rankings that we believe are the result of manipulation. Rankings carry no monetary value and confer no rights.

7. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your use of the Service creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time.

8. Our Content

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Service to you.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service uses Google reCAPTCHA to reduce automated abuse. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The Service also retrieves data from the National Weather Service. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY FORECAST OR DATA SHOWN ON THE SERVICE IS ACCURATE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR PROPERTY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR YOUR RELIANCE ON ANY FORECAST OR DATA SHOWN ON IT.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

13. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, and we may update these Terms, at any time. If we make a material change we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law
